Just like with good wine, the finest coffees come from certain regions of the world where the conditions are ideal for growing the best coffee. You need a lot of sun, humidity, and altitude for this. The best coffees (mostly Arabica) come from Africa, such as Ethiopia (the cradle) and Kenya, and from South America, such as Guatemala, Colombia, and El Salvador. In these countries, we find the even more complex and beautiful coffees where often on smaller estates (farms) the farmer, with his craftsmanship and passion, wants to get the very best out of the beans."
