Volt Music Venue

Poppodium Volt is a cultural music venue in the Dutch city of Sittard that organizes activities for young people and for music and culture enthusiasts in general. Poppodium Volt has existed since March 2014; before that, it was called Fenix. Fenix was established in 2005 from a cultural youth center located in a former school building on Odasingel. Several well-known artists such as Novastar, The Levellers, and Jaya The Cat have performed there multiple times. At the end of March 2013, the center was closed for a major renovation and reopened its doors on March 14, 2014, under the new name Poppodium Volt, with a performance on the same evening by Blaudzun. The pop venue has a capacity of 700 visitors. In December 2015, it was announced that among others, Poppodium Volt has been designated as a core venue within the subsidy Programming Podium Popmuziek by the Fonds Podiumkunsten in 2016. There is also an option to rehearse in one of the two rehearsal spaces. As of February 1, 2018, Poppodium Volt is part of the cultural company De Domijnen.
