Nature Reserve Wallstein.
This estate and nature reserve is located between Schijf and Achtmaal and west of Zundert.
Wallsteijn was created after the excavation of the raised bog. Until the mid-18th century, peat was transported by fully loaded flat-bottomed boats over the peat canal to the port. Wallsteijn consists of coniferous and deciduous forests with old oak avenues, interspersed with farmland surrounded by hedgerows. To the west lies the Oude Buisse Heide. To the northeast is the estate De Moeren. To the northwest lies the nature reserve De Reten.
Wallsteijn is managed by Natuurmonumenten. There is a blue walking route of 12 km, a yellow one of 4 km, and a red one of 5 km.
