On the northern hill of the Kollenberg, a total of seven shrines can be found. At the top of the Kollenberg in Sittard lies the St. Rosa Chapel. A small building with a great and rich history. The chapel was built in 1675 in honor of Saint Rosa, the patron saint of Sittard. Four shrines date from 1907, three from 1925. They were placed to replace the shrines dating from 1800.
The three shrines from 1925 were realized in the context of the 250th anniversary of the St. Rosa Chapel. The seven shrines are constructed in the form of wayside chapels. Stepped concrete basements, on which a structure of red facing brick is laid in a herringbone pattern. Some shrines have a hardstone plinth. Green and red glazed profile strips at the corners of the facades and in the niches.
