Estate Den Treek – Henschoten has been the owner of 't Heihuis since December 2012. This estate, covering 193 hectares, mainly consists of forest and former dune sand areas. In the area, there is a former field of 25 hectares where asparagus and corn were grown in the past. This heavily fertilized plot was transformed into a nature reserve in 2004. To that end, the edges were planted with shrubs here and there, and management was omitted, allowing scrub and brambles to develop.
