The Sint-Martinuskerk is a 15th-century Gothic church building in Halsteren. It is located at Dorpsstraat 20.
Already in the 12th century there was already a church in the vicinity of Halsteren, which was located in the village of Polder west of present-day Halsteren and was founded by Zeeland nobles. This church, together with the village, would have disappeared in the waves during the All Saints' Flood of 1570. In the 14th century, a church dedicated to Saint Martin was built on the Brabantse Wal. This was the church of Halsteren. This was later expanded. In 1457, the construction of a three-sided closed choir began on the 14th-century wallwork of this church. Between 1495 and 1502 the nave with aisles, as well as the lower transept, was built. The 14th-century tower was built into the nave and raised with a bell ring.
