Cadzand appears in the Red Knight's Story, The Pirates of Sluis. In the story, it is a picturesque island that is located between the Zwin and the North Sea and forms the basis of a privateer's nest. Here we also find the inn of Francis "The Pirate". It is covered with dunes and swampy strips of land. Before the French aggressors wanted to turn against Sluis, they had to deal with the privateers hiding in Cadzand. A bloody battle is fought that turns out in favor of the hijackers. Sluis itself remains free from conflict.
