This is the center of the Merenwijk, a new housing estate built in the 1970s and 1980s. Almost all amenities are concentrated around this place. There is, among other things, a covered shopping center called De Kopermolen, an ecumenical church, a branch of the public library, and a health center located here. There is a market once a week in this square. A landmark is the large yellow arch in the middle of the square.
