This church is especially special because of its interior. In 1959, parts of murals were revealed during work. These were completely uncovered in 1999 and made permanently visible again. These are depictions of the Last Judgement and of Saint George with the dragon. There are also two special grave monuments: one by Hendrik van Brienen from 1663 and one by Reinoud van Wijhe from 1657. The name of the church comes from Saint John the Baptist, who has been the patron saint of this church since the Middle Ages. The beautiful former presbytery is located on the other side of the intersection near the church, Voorstraat 1.
