Helmond Airfield, Allied codename B.86 Helmond, is a former World War II airfield east of the Dutch city of Helmond. It was in use from 9 January 1945 to 14 July 1945.
At the end of September 1944, Operation Market Garden failed. After this, the Allies looked for suitable locations to build two airfields in the eastern part of Brabant. British scouts quickly found a usable terrain east of Helmond. It was known as the Rijpelberg. A 350-hectare airfield with a runway was to be built on that spot. The British began construction on 19 October. Dutch workers helped them with this. Because it had to be an airport for all weather conditions, the construction took a relatively long time.
