Nuenen-Tongelre Station, also known as Eeneind, was opened on 1 October 1866 on the Venlo - Eindhoven railway line on the Eeneind, which is now part of Nuenen.
In 1859 there were plans to build a railway line from Den Bosch to Helmond. The municipality of Eindhoven felt sidelined and ensured that this connection would run via Eindhoven to Helmond and Venlo.
