The Monnikenbos is a nature reserve near Soest in the province of Utrecht.
The Monnikenbos is located between the Korte Duinen and Birkhoven.
This area belonged to the Mariënhof monastery that was built in De Birkt in 1419. In 1543 this monastery was plundered by Maarten van Rossum, after which the monks fled within the city wall of Amersfoort. After the Reformation, the forest became the property of the municipality of Amersfoort. The current forest was called Affendorp at the time.
On a map from 1640 the area is described as a Heetveld with an area of 150 morgen. Nowadays, the Monnikenbos is located in the municipality of Soest.
