The Soviet War Cemetery Leusden is an honorary cemetery in Leusden, next to the Rusthof cemetery in Amersfoort. 865 victims of the Second World War from the Soviet Union are buried here.
The Field of Honour is, among other things, the final resting place of 101 Soviet soldiers who were taken prisoner of war on the Eastern Front in September 1941. These soldiers, mainly from the Central Asian Soviet republics, such as Uzbekistan. They are buried near Amersfoort, because the Germans had transferred the group to Camp Amersfoort by train in 1941. Within five months, 24 prisoners starved to death, the 77 others were shot on April 9, 1942 without any form of trial. At the execution site behind the former police academy there is a memorial column in remembrance. These soldiers were reburied at the Rusthof cemetery in Amersfoort.
