The Panheel lock is located in the Wessem-Nederweert canal, CEMT class II, near the town of Panheel and, at almost 8 metres, has the third largest drop of all locks in the Netherlands. The complex includes two locks: the old lock and the new lock next to it.
The old lock is 153.00 m long, 7.50 m wide and has a lock length of 145.00 m. The new lock is 154.00 m long, 12.60 m wide and has a lock length of 150.00 m.
