The Groote Molenbeek is a medium-sized, canalized lowland brook in the north of the Dutch province of Limburg. Without counting the tributaries, it is approximately 32 kilometers long. The catchment area covers about 18,000 hectares. The Groote Molenbeek begins in Grashoek at an elevation of about 35 meters and flows northeast towards the A67 motorway. North of the motorway, an drainage from the Mariapeel, De Graskuilen, flows into the brook. It continues eastward, along the Schatberg towards Sevenum. Here, the Blakterbeek flows into the brook. The brook then flows under the Venlo - Eindhoven railway and through 't Ham to Horst. There, the brook flows for several kilometers along the A73 motorway and after Horst, it makes a turn to the east. Via Tienray and Meerlo, the brook continues towards Wanssum, where it flows into the Meuse via the Wanssum harbor at an elevation of about 12 meters.
