The Red Cliff is a glacial till wall southeast of Stavoren. On top of the Red Cliff stands a monument created in 1951 in memory of the battle at Warns in 1345, when the Frisians defeated the Hollander. This battle is commemorated here every year. The stone bears the inscription leaver dea as slaef, meaning rather dead than a slave.
