Here is a beautiful modern farm called Hoeve Heemstee. Formerly called farm Heemstede and lived all people in the 17th century. From 1859 it is in the hands of the Kuijs family.
The farm was actually not as lonely on the Korendijk as it seems now. According to a map from 1680 of the Hoog-Heemraetschap of the Uytwaterende Sluysen in Kennemerlandt and the West Vrieslandt, a footpath ran from the Heemskerk or Marquette house to Heemstede, which was reached over a bridge. Heemstee farm was originally a family business and from 1992, in addition to keeping cows, also focused on horse breeding. From 2006 they have completely switched to horse husbandry and offer boarding facilities for horses.
Address: Heemstederweg 5, 1902 RP Castricum, Noord-Holland, Netherlands
