The Hellingbos is a hillside forest in Simpelveld in the Dutch municipality of Simpelveld. The forest is located on the northern slope of the Eyserbeek valley east of the center of Simpelveld and is surrounded on several sides by neighborhoods of the village. In 1875-1878 the monastery Huize Loreto was founded. Not too long after its foundation, a park was laid out behind the monastery building. Initially, the cemetery of the monastery was located here and later various structures were constructed.
