Kolland

The Kolland estate is located to the west of Amerongen against the winter dike of the Rhine and in the easternmost part of the Kromme Rijn area. It lies at the transition from the higher sandy areas (Utrechtse Heuvelrug) to the clay region. The estate covers 126 hectares, of which 47 hectares consist of mature forest and ash coppice. The remainder is leased agricultural land, open water, ditches, avenues, and pollard trees. Kolland has three farms, one of which is a national monument and one a municipal monument. Dairy farming determines the character of the estate. The monuments, the oak avenues, the ash coppice, and the landscape elements make it a beautiful ensemble. Kolland has managed for generations with a focus on agriculture and on the preservation and development of natural and landscape beauty.
