The Geulpark in Valkenburg is compact, but there is much to see and do. Walk through the baroque castle garden of Castle Oost (only during the day) and wander along the paths beside the meandering Geul. With a bit of luck, you'll see a beaver swimming. Along the Geul, there are small pebble beaches where you can sit comfortably. Children play to their heart's content in the natural playground.
A stroll around the fish pond is best enjoyed in the evening sun. Look for dragonflies, frogs, and water lilies. Water birds enjoy the peace on the wooden poles sticking out of the pond.
