Bemelerbos

The Bemelerbos or Bemelerbosch is a forest in the Dutch municipality of Eijsden-Margraten in South Limburg. The slope forest is located southeast of Bemelen and northeast of Sint Antoniusbank. The forest lies on the southwest side of the Krekelberg and on the western and southwestern slope of the Mettenberg. These hills are located on the western edge of the Plateau of Margraten in the transition to the Meuse Valley. Locally, the plateau dips steeply downwards by a number of meters. The Bemelerbos is situated at the edge of this plateau where two dry valleys converge into the Meuse Valley. To the north of the forest is the dry valley Koelbosgrub and to the southwest, the dry valley Sibbersloot. The hill is located in the area of Bemelerberg & Schiepersberg.
