Dorst Forest is the name of an extensive forest area located between Rijen, Oosterhout, Teteringen, and Dorst. It measures 1,117 ha and is owned by the Dutch State Forestry Service.
The area primarily consists of Scots pine forest that was planted in the early 19th century on heathland. This area was known as Seterse Heide. Around 1850, much of the forest was cut down again as the area was taken into use as a military training ground. Sand drift occurred, and the nearby hamlet of Seters even had to be protected against the advancing sand with an oak coppiced hedge. In 1899, the Dutch State Forestry Service acquired the area. It was replanted and the military moved elsewhere.
