The Toolenburgerplas is an artificial lake and a nature and recreation area of over 85 hectares in the Dutch town of Hoofddorp, to the west of the residential area of Toolenburg. The recreation area and the lake have been officially in use since 2003.
The area was created in 1994 by sand extraction for the neighborhoods of Toolenburg and Floriande. On the then-barren farmland, an increasingly large body of water arose, surrounded by sand dunes. The area is enclosed by buildings from the residential neighborhood, the IJweg, the Bennebroekerweg, and the bus lane of the Zuidtangent.
