The Zweth in the Dutch water authority Delfland is a drainage and navigation connection that forms the boundary between the villages of De Lier – 't Woudt – Den Hoorn and Honselersdijk – Kwintsheul – Wateringen. The southwest of the county of Holland was reclaimed in the Middle Ages from the south along the banks of the Maas and from the beach ridges along the coast to the west. Canals such as the Delf and De Zweth were dug to drain the water and maintain control over the water management. The Zweth was the boundary between the reclamations from the Maas and those from the beach ridges.
