La Zweth nell'ente idraulico olandese Delfland è un collegamento di drenaggio e navigazione che forma il confine tra i villaggi De Lier – 't Woudt – Den Hoorn e Honselersdijk – Kwintsheul – Wateringen. Il sud-ovest della contea d'Olanda è stato bonificato nel Medioevo partendo dal sud lungo le rive del fiume Maas e dalle dune costiere a ovest. Sono stati scavati canali come il Delf e la Zweth per poter evacuare l'acqua e mantenere sotto controllo la gestione idrica. La Zweth era il confine tra le bonifiche provenienti dal Maas e quelle dalle dune costiere.
