The Easter Hill is the centre of the star forest that was created here, on the Remmerstein estate, in the eighteenth century. At that time, the ridge consisted largely of heath and sand. The view from the Easter Hill, 53 meters above sea level, must have been beautiful. From the center, the star forest was given twelve avenues, which functioned as sight lines for hunting, but also gave direction to the view. To the east, the line of sight was focused on the now disappeared castle tower of Remmerstein, the place where a pigeon tower now stands. Other sight lines drew the view to the church towers of Veenendaal, Rhenen and Wageningen. Like the view, eight of the twelve avenues and the tea dome that stood on the hill have also disappeared over time.
