Sint Anna ter Muiden is a small picturesque village that once had city rights. The houses are clustered around a triangular square with a characteristic village pump from 1789 in the middle. However, the relatively large town hall reveals that this place, which is older than Sluis, has experienced different times. Once it was a lively port town that literally saw its thriving business silt up due to Het Zwin.
Agriculture took the place of maritime activities and there is still a rural atmosphere.
