Tavern D'n Ouwe Brandtoren

The beating heart of Natuurpoort de Brandtoren is tavern d’n Ouwe Brandtoren, the perfect base for a walking, cycling, mountain biking, or horseback riding trip on the Peelse Heide. Various observation towers give you a fantastic view over a nature area that stretches across the Dutch-Belgian border. Families with young children will find plenty of play areas here, while those aged 55 and up can enjoy the tranquility of nature, delicious fresh food, or one of the many special beers.

In and around the tavern, there are countless options for a fun active day. Children will likely dive straight into the many play equipment, but don’t forget to take them along to the Keimennekespad: a ‘experience forest’ around small fantasy figures. The Peelse Heide also includes the Grote and Kleine Cirkel, a fitness trail, and the Bee Garden. And besides a beekeepers association, you can even visit a snail farm.

Furthermore, you have a choice of various large group games, such as ‘Crack the Code’ and XL terrace games. In bad weather, many of these games can also be played indoors. Or visit the nearby escape room, where you must find your way out while solving puzzles. The tavern offers several activities in collaboration with third parties, such as culinary walking tours, creative workshops (from painting to fire-eating!), and outdoor arrangements (via Outdoorpark Reusel).
