Cafe/brewery 'Under the Linden' is a gem of a café in its purest original form.
Under the Linden is one of the oldest cafés in the Netherlands, formerly located in a crucial spot between Rhenen, Ede, Veenendaal, and Wageningen. Since 1728, the building has been in use as a tavern.
As "Café by the Bridge," it was situated on busy waterways from the harbor on the Rhine towards Ede/Veenendaal and by a bridge leading to Rhenen. In the more recent history of Wageningen, the café was particularly known as the café of the legendary Mies Quint, father of the former goalkeeper of FC Wageningen, Kees Quint.
