Soon after leaving the estate Larenberg and crossing the Leemzeulder again, we pass through the next gate. Immediately to the right, several trees stand close together, which we call a tree bouquet. When you plant several trees together, they grow into each other and form a multi-stemmed tree. You then also have a thicker tree sooner, in just 50 years, whereas a normal tree takes about 80 years. After the war, a lot was planted, sometimes closely together, as not everything was expected to take root.
Who knows, you might see right in front of the tree bouquet a small stump with an acorn wedged in it? Sometimes you see a trunk with an acorn or pine cone in the grooves, which are placed there by woodpeckers (magpies or jays) as a food reserve. Source: Groenepassies.nl
