The Central Station was designed by Pierre Cuypers (1876). In its construction, he was inspired by late Gothic and early Renaissance. The sculptures on the façade refer to trade and industry in Amsterdam.
On the right side of the Central Station (looking towards the station), you can catch a glimpse of the Royal Waiting Room through the glass.
From the plaza at Central Station Amsterdam, various walking routes start. Among them are the Pilgrim's Path, Westerbork Path, and FlorisV Path.
