The Heuvelland Cycle Route takes you to both sides of the Heuvelland: from the Vaalserberg to the Sint-Pietersberg or vice versa. As you are used to from the Heuvelland, you cycle up hill, down hill along beautiful views, idyllic villages and half-timbered houses. You even take a trip to Germany.

The hills are the guide in the cycle route and provide the most beautiful views. Along the way in the five-star landscape you will discover more about Maastricht, Bemelen, Gulpen and Vaals. The Heuvelland municipalities of Eijsden-Margraten, Gulpen-Wittem and Vaals carry the 'Cittaslow' quality mark. Living slowly means living well: take the time to enjoy the little things in life. It is precisely those small things that turn out to be very big in the experience of happiness and you can therefore experience when cycling this route.

You start the route either from the Sint-Pietersberg or from the Vaalserberg. In Maastricht you can park at the Oog van Sint Pieter (paid parking) or on the south side of the nature reserve at Chalet d'n Observant, parking lot of Natuurmonumenten (members free, non-members equal rate Oog van Sint-Pieter). The route is easy to cycle, because you follow the special signage. You can then use the junction system to cycle back to your starting point via a different route. It is also possible to complete a large euregional cycling tour. You do this via the Ravel 38 /39 in Belgium and then continue via the Maasroute. You will then arrive at the starting point again.
