In the rural areas between the fortified towns lie the true hidden gems. In the past, these locations were essential links in the inundation plans, perfectly coordinated to be able to flood large areas of land. During the walk, you will explore the historic center of the fortified town of Steenbergen and walk paths along Fort Henricus. You will also pass some beautiful nature reserves, such as the Dintelse Gorzen, the Steenbergse Vliet and the Volkerak-Zoommeer.
