In the sixteenth century, a 'child prodigy' was born in Hilvarenbeek. Johannes Goropius Becanus, also known as Jan van Gorp. Jan had an enormous knack for languages, a great intuition and a lot of knowledge of nature. He combined that knowledge with feeling and found... the EARTHLY PARADISE. This cycle route starts at De Vrijthof in Hilvarenbeek and is 15.5 km long in total. The cycle route is 10 km and the connecting walking route is 5.5 km. You can find this walking route here. To start the walking route, you first cycle to cycle junction 50. From there you can cycle to De Nieuwe Hoef to park your bike. From here, walk to hiking junction 92. After your walk, get back on your bike and cycle back to cycle junction 50. Here the cycle route continues towards the end point.
