Along and over the Heuvelrug

One branch of this beautiful route follows the Utrecht Ridge from Amersfoort to the far southeast of the ridge near Rhenen. Along the way, as many elevation meters as possible are gained. The route is a real loop that does not touch or cross itself anywhere. To make that possible, the other branch of the route runs along the ridge, on the northeastern side. The journey usually takes place on quiet roads and bike paths through beautiful forests and agricultural areas. An exception is the section through Amersfoort, which is included in the route because several hills lie here that are probably surprising to many. The loop includes 4 kilometers of unpaved sections, which make the route more beautiful and quieter but dirtier for the bike if the "pavement" is wet.

If you start at the MTB parking lot Den Treek, you will encounter the following hills in order of travel:
