Autoroute offered by GTO.
The route is based on the article from the series 'En Route' that deals with 'The miracle of Dutch wine'. You can download and print both the route and the original article here.
The route also jumps over the Belgian border to the castle of Genoels-Elderen.
The Dutch are drinking more and more wine. Between 1995 and 2005, the
consumption increased by no less than 28 percent from a small
13 liters to 21 liters per capita. Beer consumption fell by 9 percent in the same period. From 86 liters to 78 liters per capita. The wine lake in Europe is growing steadily. France and Italy produce hectolitres, which cannot be put on the paving stones. From the New World we are flooded with cheaper, tasty alternatives. Nevertheless, Dutch farmers and hobbyists are also throwing themselves into viticulture. Here you can taste them.
