Routes to the west, towards Valkenswaard/Eindhoven, means that you are often presented with many cycling paths along through roads. This route is no different, but it often seeks out the separate (narrower) cycling paths through nature areas (such as between Leenderstrijp and Valkenswaard). This means that this route is not suitable for large groups. If you want a route towards WZW that avoids the narrow cycling paths, there is a variant of this route: WZW Keersop- and Dommeldal.

You cycle to Someren via Waardjesweg and along the cycling path next to the Provincial road towards Heeze. Through Vlaamseweg and the rural area between Heeze and Leenderstrijp, you reach Leenderstrijp. You then cycle for a longer time through the Leenderbos on narrow asphalted paths until just south of Valkenswaard. Via the rural area south of Valkenswaard, you cycle to Dommelen, crossing the Dommeldal via a separate cycling path (Kaatse Bossen). You then cycle towards the Venbergse watermill.

After that, you head south through the valley of the Dommel, via the fairly narrow cycling path (it is wider than the cycling paths through the Leenderbos on this route) through the nature area de Malpie, to Schaft. The cobbled road through Schaft is largely avoided as the route goes further south towards Belgium. In Belgium, you briefly follow the cycling path along the former tram line Valkenswaard - Pelt. Then you cycle through the Beverbeekse Bossen, followed by narrow cycling paths along the border (along the death wire) and along the edge of the Gastelse Heide (which also contains some sharp turns). Via Cranendonck (cobbled road) and Maarheeze, you cycle to Someren-Eind and back to Heusden.

The observant cyclist will notice that the river valleys of the Buulder Aa, Strijper Aa, and Tongelreep are also crossed. In Belgium, you go through the river valley of the Haagbroekerloop (but there is no sign indicating this stream).
