In the relative calm of the Groningen landscape, you walk from Vriescheloo to Bellingwolde. This is the birthplace of ex-footballer Jan Mulder. From Bellingwolde and along the Loosterplassen, it is only a small step to our German neighbors in the east. But we stay in the Netherlands and return to Groningen's Vriescheloo, which means Frisian forest. In this forest-rich environment, monks from the Frisian town of Dokkum tried to convert the village to Christianity.
