Loenermarken

The Loenermark is one of the most beautiful nature reserves. The coniferous forest, the heath with its beautiful juniper bushes and various heath species, the sheep herd with Veluwe heath sheep and the old drifting dunes are highlights here. Furthermore, the Loenermark is rich in large mammals, such as deer, roe deer, wild boars and foxes.  The forest on the Loenermark is very old. The Loenense Bos was already mentioned in the 10th century. Most of this original forest was coppice and in use by the marke van Loenen. The rest of the Loenermark consisted of heathland. Geldersch Landschap & Kasteelen (GLK) acquired the Loenermark in 1992 on lease from the municipality of Apeldoorn.   Wildlife observation post
There is a wildlife observation post on the Loenermark, this post was opened in 2012. The wildlife observation post is freely accessible, wheelchair friendly and easily accessible. There is a paved path from the parking lot on the Groenendaalseweg to the post. Viewing slots have been made at different heights.
