The walk starts at the parking lot at Postdijk 2 near the village of Opende. Of course, it can also start somewhere else.
From here, the walk begins on a wide sandy path. Then you walk along narrow paths by the Jilt Dijksheide, the only remaining heathland in this region. And the last piece is untouched raised bog. The loop around the Snipspoel is beautiful, don’t miss it! Halfway, you walk back along the Leidijk. Leidijken were medieval dikes that prevented waterlogging. The height varied from half a meter to a meter. It is a real pleasure to walk back along this Leidijk to Jilt Dijksheide. Via a woodland path, you will return to the parking lot.
