Recorded with GPS on June 28, 2020 and adjusted on May 16, 2021 http://www.pannenkoekenhuistenbosch.nl/nl/ THOSE WHO LIKE VERY WINDING PATHS BETTER TAKE THIS https://www.routeyou.com/nl-nl/route/view/6806442/wandelroute/kerkpaden-en-een-kapel-deels-heel-kronkelig-pad

The Elsakkerpad is one of the few remaining church paths. The word says it all: a church path (or church path) is a path that leads to the church. The paths ran through meadows to shorten the distance. Horses or carts could not get there. On Sundays the villagers walked along the church path to the church, during the week children used it to go to school. The Elsakkerpad is an old connection between Chaam and Snijders. Many church paths have fallen into disuse. Now there is a realization that these paths are of cultural-historical importance. Restoring the trails is sometimes difficult; If they walk across the yard of a farm, the farmer must grant right of way.

A little cycling enthusiast knows this North Brabant village from the famous cycling race the Acht van Chaam. Hikers will agree: Chaam and its surroundings should not be crossed at top speed. To enjoy the forests, streams, fens and bordered meadows, you have to put on your hiking boots. The name Chaam originates from the Celtic word cambo, which means 'bend in the river'. Our distant ancestors had a good time in that river bend and built a settlement there. Now it's your turn to enjoy this varied landscape here.
