Car: starts at the parking lot at Bergweg 1, 3951 LH Maarn, municipality of Utrechtse Heuvelrug, The Netherlands. Free parking. A12: from Utrecht take exit 21 and from Arnhem take exit 22 and then drive another 4 km west to Maarn.

Train: Maarn railway station, the Netherlands (with local train from Utrecht). Then 1.1 km westwards via the Tuindorpweg.

A beautiful circular walk on both sides of the A12 motorway at any time of the year. You walk across the Noordhout estate, on former municipal boundaries and past the place where the train used to stop. And back over the Asparagus field and via a steep staircase with 170 steps down to the Zanderij Maarn and the Erratic Stone Island. Detailed information about the history and infrastructure in this wooded area is given at Sights. Furthermore, this tour is a nice introduction to the hilly terrain in this part of the green municipality of Utrechtse Heuvelrug.
