This route is part of the 7 Summits, the seven steepest peaks in South Limburg. It is a circular walk of 6.5 km with a maximum height of 157 meters.

On top of the Gulperberg is the concrete Maria monument from 1935 by sculptor Charles Vos and architect Piet Gerrits. The hill is the northernmost spur of the Crapoel Plateau. Cyclists fear the Gulperberg, especially from the village it immediately goes up horribly steeply, but from Partij the mountain is even more treacherous. The walk passes both sharp judges, so don't forget to encourage the cyclists. From the statue of Mary you have a good view of the valley of the Geul and of the Gulp that merge in Gulpen. The walk takes the Dunnenbosch, one of the many beautiful hillside forests in South Limburg. From here you have a magnificent view of an un-Dutch landscape; the Eyser Heuvelrug. If you keep the row of poplars for cypress trees, you will imagine yourself in Tuscany. Please note, this route is not signposted.
