The walk starts at the old manor grounds of Ewsum. You will pass through the village of Middelstum, with the Menthadaheerd, the 15th-century Sint-Hippolytus church, and the Asingapoort. This gate is a remnant of the old Asingaborg. If the church is open, be sure to take a look inside. It is really worth it. Via a church path, you will arrive in the terp village of Toornwerd, with the Ossegang as a walking experience. After Toornwerd, you walk to Kantens and encounter another impressive church, beautifully located in the heart of the village. After Kantens, you return to the old manor grounds of Ewsum. Only the manor grounds and a lookout tower remain of the once mighty Ewsum. There is a tea room on the grounds, and the pastries are delicious!
