World Heritage Kinderdijk from Wiel-rent.nl

Starting point Wiel-rent.nl - Leerdam, you cycle along rural winding roads towards the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kinderdijk. Here you can rent racing bikes, hybrid bikes, electric (racing) bikes, and city bikes. If you wish, you will receive a GPS device (attached to your handlebars) pre-programmed with this or one of our other routes. The start of this route is at Lingedijkt in Oosterwijk, where you may park for free if renting a (racing) bike. You cycle over the Lingedijk to Arkel, then continue winding along the river Giessen to the west. Along the bike path beside the Smoutjesvliet, you then ride north. Through the Achterland, you ride to the Ammerse boezem. There, you cross it and briefly ride to the north on the other side, then via the Donk, you cycle along various quiet rural roads with beautiful views to Kinderdijk. You then cycle along the dike beside the Lek back to Ameide-Sluis to return via the Zouwe (Meerkerk) and Leerbroek to Wiel-rent.nl where you can return your rental bike. Of course, this route can also be ridden with your own bike. However, no parking is provided in the immediate vicinity.
