Discover the Old and the New Meuse

The expedition to the Old and New Maas is a special cycling tour. You start at hotel Ara van der Valk where there is ample parking space. You cycle under the shadow of Rotterdam. Along the route, you will find the beautiful church in Kijfhoek. You ride in the vicinity of Heerjansdam and Barendrecht, but also through the old village of IJsselmonde in Rotterdam. You cycle in a winding manner through Rotterdam, but you stay reasonably away from the busy part of the city. You come to the Northern Island, the Willems Bridge to the other side of the New Maas, and you cycle along the Maas Boulevard towards the Maastunnel. You also ride through the Maastunnel to the other side of the Maas and back. Then you cycle along the Waalhaven and the old village of Charlois. At pier 3 of the Waalhaven, you can view the ship and machine arsenal of Boskalis. Then you cycle towards the Old Maas to return to the starting point. A fun and varied route of almost 48 kilometers.
