The Museu dos Biscaínhos museum is housed in the beautiful residential palace of a noble family, who had it built in the 17th century .
This fine example of civil baroque architecture shows the way of life in a mansion of that time and still preserves original furniture of the various rooms. The house exhibits the collection of decorative art from the 17th and 18th centuries , from private donations, which mainly consists of furniture, baroque pottery, Chinese porcelain, European glassware, silverware, fabrics and Portuguese and European paintings.
The gardens, which are inspired by 17th century French gardens , are the best preserved and most complete gardens from the Baroque period.
