The Misericórdia Church was built in the 16th century, probably starting between 1560 and 1562. It underwent several renovations until what we see today.
The main facade, in Renaissance-Florentine style, dates from 1562. On the side facade, above the portal, there is a replica of the Primitive Sculpture Group of the Visitation from 1660.
Inside, the monumental gilded altarpiece by Marceliano de Araújo , built between 1735 and 1740, stands out. And a canvas of the patron saint by José Lopes from 1736.
