Monsanto is known as the most Portuguese village in Portugal. The village is famous for its houses built between, under, and even on top of enormous granite boulders. Several movies and TV series have been filmed in Monsanto, Portugal, with the most notable recent production being HBO’s House of the Dragon, the prequel to Game of Thrones.
