The Sommarmord apartment, Hamnen
Molin filming sites. The Lars Molin Society shows you where it happened.
In Sommarmord, a reporter from Kvällsposten meets Big Eva. The journalist, played by Göran Stangertz, gets the information he wants by asking leading questions.
Lars Molin is probably best known for his humorous satires and family epics. But with Sommarmord, he made an unbelievably emotional film. The ending has gone down in history as one of Sweden’s most hated.
Today, the apartment is owned by Christian Wass.
In Sommarmord, produced in 1994, Sture and Sylvia are lying in their boat, RAN. Sture got the boat as a present from Sylvia and had carefully restored it. As Sture himself put it: “I thought that if I could just put her in order, everything else would follow suit.”
In the film’s final scene, some malicious person has covered the boat with dead fish and other garbage. Sture makes his way out into the archipelago where, later on, the dependable policeman Backhammer, played by Rolf Lassgård, comes and picks him up.
Rolf has taken the ‘helicopter’, as he calls it. Lars often made use of dialectal slips of the tongue; a fun fact for you trivia lovers is that Lars was never able to say the word ‘director’ properly, but called himself a ‘ridector’.
